The nervousness experienced during interviews can be caused by several factors, primarily stemming from a lack of language skills, knowledge, and experience in effective communication.

First , inadequate language skills often breed nervousness in the interviewee. The ability to convey thoughts clearly and articulately is essential in any professional setting, but particularly in job interviews. A lack of fluency in the language of communication can lead to frustration and self-doubt, amplifying the nervousness that individuals experience. Misunderstandings, miscommunications, and the inability to express oneself with confidence due to lack of vocabulary can create a daunting barrier between the applicant and their potential employer.

Furthermore, insufficient knowledge about the position and the organization can exacerbate anxiety in an interview setting. An applicant who is not well-informed about the company, its values, and the role they are applying for may come across as disinterested or unprepared. The fear of appearing ignorant can significantly contribute to interview jitters. Individuals worry about not having the necessary information to respond to questions or engage in meaningful discussions, which can undermine their confidence.

Lastly, a lack of experience in effective communication adds another layer to the nervousness experienced during interviews. A lot of people have very limited experience in communication, including public speaking, hosting a meeting etc. Effective communication is an art, and mastering it takes time and practice. Inexperienced candidates may struggle to convey their qualifications, skills, and achievements in a compelling and persuasive manner. This can lead to feelings of inadequacy and fear.
